If you have arrived here through an official Urgent Delivery Notification, someone you cared about designated you as an heir to their Inheribase digital vault. We understand this is a difficult time. This system was built specifically to protect you and ensure that what was left to you reaches you safely — without requiring any technical background on your part. Take things at your own pace. This guide explains exactly what to expect and how to proceed when you are ready.

What just happened?

Inheribase vaults remain entirely private during the owner’s lifetime. Heirs are never notified of their designation until after the vault’s release conditions are permanently met and a mandatory contestation period has safely elapsed. If you received an Urgent Delivery Notification, two things are now true:
  1. The vault’s release conditions have been permanently satisfied.
  2. The vault’s contents are legally and cryptographically assigned to you.
Nothing has been altered, deleted, or accessed. The data is exactly as the owner sealed it.

What you need

To claim the vault, you need only two things:
  1. Access to the email account that received the Urgent Delivery Notification.
  2. A smartphone or computer capable of generating a standard Passkey — Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a device PIN.
You do not need: cryptocurrency, a crypto wallet, prior technical knowledge, or to pay any fees. Inheribase manages all of the underlying infrastructure invisibly. Everything was prepaid by the vault owner.

How the release process works

1

Email verification

Click the Claim Vault link in your Urgent Delivery Notification. You will be routed to a secure page at app.inheribase.com/claim. Verify your email address to confirm your identity.
2

Set up your identity

Create a Passkey tied to your device — Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a device PIN. This creates a mathematically secure anchor to your identity without any need for a blockchain wallet or password. Your Passkey is stored on your device and never sent to Inheribase servers.
3

Guardian coordination

Behind the scenes, the vault owner’s designated Guardians — trusted friends, family members, or attorneys — will be notified to securely transmit their cryptographic key fragments. You do not need to contact the Guardians yourself. Inheribase handles this coordination automatically.
4

Access granted

Once enough Guardians have authorized the release (for example, 2 out of 3 in a standard configuration), the vault is unlocked exclusively for you. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your Vault dashboard.

What you will receive

You will receive the exact, unredacted contents of the vault exactly as the owner sealed them. Inheribase cannot see, alter, or interpret the files.
  • You can download all raw files directly from your Vault dashboard — estate documents, photos, seed phrases, bank account details, or any other data the owner stored.
  • If multiple heirs were designated, each heir receives complete and equal access to the entire vault. Inheribase does not divide or assign individual files to specific heirs — every designated heir receives access to everything.

Timeline and time to claim

The Inheribase protocol is permanently backed by Arweave, a decentralized storage network endowed for over 200 years. There is no deadline for claiming your inheritance.
  • The vault will not expire.
  • Storage costs were fully prepaid by the vault owner.
  • The encrypted data is permanently and immutably archived.
Take all the time you need. You may initiate the claim whenever you are ready.

Support and escalation

If you encounter difficulties coordinating with Guardians or accessing your vault, help is available:
  • Email support@inheribase.com with your Vault Claim Identifier. The operations team will assist you with the claim dashboard.
  • Review the Sovereign Escape Hatch to understand the unalterable, non-corporate guarantees that protect the data you are inheriting — regardless of Inheribase’s operational status.
